Softball Preview: Norwell Knights vs. Bluffton Tigers

Norwell is a perfect 10-0 against Bluffton since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will take on the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Norwell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Norwell took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Huntington North by a score of 12-9.

Kara Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last six games. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Frauhiger, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Mia Kurtz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Norwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
