Baseball Recap: Charlotte Christian Takes Down Ranked Covenant Day

Charlotte Christian faced Covenant Day in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights came out on top against the Lions by a score of 6-3. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jack Beard looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Charlotte Christian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Derek Vazquez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Charlotte Christian's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Covenant Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-6.
