Recap: MacArthur Generals vs. Dekaney Wildcats
The MacArthur Generals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Dekaney on the road and fell 42-7. MacArthur has struggled against Dekaney recently, as their contest on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Dekaney's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samaritan Cunningham led the charge by rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Markie Grant did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 50 receiving yards.
Dekaney's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Caleb Moody and his two sacks.
MacArthur's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Westfield (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Dekaney, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
MacArthur will head out on the road to face off against Benjamin Davis at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Dekaney, they will be playing at home against Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Nimitz is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
