Football Recap: Lincoln North Star Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lincoln North Star hadn't done well against Millard West recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Navigators blew past the Wildcats 35-10. The Navigators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 25 points or more this season.

Lincoln North Star didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaac Rabago and Jc Sievers. Another thorn in Millard West's side was Marcus Wynne, who picked up a sack, made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Lincoln North Star, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Joshua Anderson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win (which was Lincoln North Star's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.7 points on average over those games. As for Millard West, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Lincoln North Star is taking a road trip to face off against Bellevue East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Navigators are facing the Chieftains at the right time seeing as the Chieftains are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Millard West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
