Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plant). Everything went their way against the Blake Yellow Jackets on Wednesday as the Plant Panthers made off with a 7-0 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plant's offense was hitting Blake from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Ben Horan led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Plant's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Blake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plant will be home for the holidays to greet Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plant is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. After both having extra time off, Blake and Middleton will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
