Basketball Recap: Bourgeois Skates Past Central Lafourche with Ease

Bourgeois came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Central Lafourche Trojans, posting a 62-21 win. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Bourgeois' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jakharia Johnson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Johnson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Talasia White, who posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Bourgeois smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 22 consecutive contests.

Bourgeois has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Central Lafourche, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Bourgeois will face off against Hahnville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Lafourche has already played their next game, a 48-15 loss against E.D. White on the 30th.
