Baseball Recap: Normal West Starts Season with Victory Against Morton

Normal West took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Morton Potters 4-3. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Normal West's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Torin DeLaere, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normal West will square off against Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morton, they will challenge Normal Community at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morton is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
