Baseball Recap: Monticello Falls Short of Grand County in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Monticello can now relate to. They lost 18-1 to the Grand County Red Devils on Saturday. The Buckaroo haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Monticello saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Keyes, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Keyes is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Grand County, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grand County, they will face off against San Juan at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
