Softball Game Preview: Jordan Warriors vs. Seven Lakes Spartans

The Jordan Warriors will take on the Seven Lakes Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Jordan will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Jordan gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Cinco Ranch by a score of 10-7.

The team relied heavily on Macey McCoy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Royse, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Seven Lakes fell victim to Katy Taylor and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 15-0. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jordan's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Seven Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Seven Lakes' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .481. It's a different story for Seven Lakes, though, as they've only averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Jordan's hitters?

Everything went Jordan's way against Seven Lakes in their previous meeting back in March, as Jordan made off with a 17-4 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
