Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Callaway). They enjoyed a cozy 70-53 victory over the Jackson Red Devils on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-59 back in January.
Callaway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Thomas led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in points. Kaiden James was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.
Despite the loss, Jackson saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jacen Hamm almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Zyior Mcdaniel, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.
Callaway's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Jackson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
