Softball Recap: Yuma Criminals vs. Cortez Colts

Yuma proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cortez Colts, sneaking past 12-11. The win continues a trend for the Criminals in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won three in a row.
Malani Culkins was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Derryel Medel, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Yuma was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The victory got Yuma back to even at 7-7. As for Cortez, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Yuma wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-13 loss against Kofa on the 15th. Hopefully Cortez paid attention to the Criminals' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Criminals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
