Trinity triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Owen Schlager

Recap: Trinity Shamrocks vs. Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers

The Trinity Shamrocks came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 75-69 W over Steelton-Highspire. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Steelton-Highspire is ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Owen Schlager was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Balaban, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

Trinity is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Steelton-Highspire, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Trinity won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Town at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. New Town is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Steelton-Highspire, they will face off against Berlin Brothersvalley at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Berlin Brothersvalley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 790 points over their last ten contests.
