Basketball Recap: North Summit Braves vs. Grand County Red Devils

The North Summit Braves pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Grand County 68-64. North Summit was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

North Summit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Buck Sargent, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Trevor Richins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Grand County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trace York out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jason Mckinney, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for North Summit and nudges their season record down to 13-7. As for Grand County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

North Summit won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Broncos at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. San Juan is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Grand County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Duchesne is ranked 82nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 90th).
