Basketball Game Preview: Southwestern Wildcats vs. Mineral Point Pointers

Southwestern hasn't had much luck against Mineral Point recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Southwestern Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Mineral Point Pointers at 7:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Southwestern came up short against Fennimore and fell 57-50. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mineral Point took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 71-22 victory over Boscobel. The Pointers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 28 points or more this season.

Mineral Point has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Southwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Southwestern was taken down by Mineral Point 86-44 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Southwestern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
