Football Game Preview: Nazarene Christian Academy Lions vs. Victory Christian Academy Patriots

The Nazarene Christian Academy Lions will square off against the Victory Christian Academy Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Victory Christian Academy will be up against a hot Nazarene Christian Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Nazarene Christian Academy simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Weatherford Christian 52-0. Given Nazarene Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Weatherford Christian is ranked 200th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nazarene Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Cristian Adams, who rushed for 52 yards and three scores, and also threw for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Nazarene Christian Academy is undefeated when Adams posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise. Wyatt Bigham was another key player, rushing for 45 yards and two TDs.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Nazarene Christian Academy's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Gaddiel Nakitare.

Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-13 win over Fellowship Academy.

Nazarene Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Victory Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Nazarene Christian Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 153.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Victory Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 197.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
