See who's tops in the country as midseason approaches.
As the Nebraska girls high school basketball season prepares to hit the stretch run, we've crunched the numbers to determine which programs made substantial climbs in our MaxPreps Computer Rankings over a year ago.
Having improved its record by a remarkable 10.5 games heading into Tuesday's action, Ewing came up the winner, climbing 154 rungs to 49th in Tuesday's Nebraska girls basketball rankings. The 10.5 game improvement is also tops among the teams listed in this week's Top 10. Jackson Medina's Tigers, who turned in a 6-15 record a year ago, are off to a fast start this winter, having won 13 of their first 14 games.
Every school in this week's Top 10 improved its ranking by at least 100 spots over a year ago, with Fremont climbing 150 rungs to 21st, earning runner-up honors. The Tigers are the highest ranked club of the schools in this week's Top 10. South Loup (+138), Overton (+133) and Wilcox-Hildreth (+113) round out the Top 5.
Every classification in Nebraska is represented in the Top 10, except for Class B, the Cornhusker State's second largest classification. Omaha Gross Catholic earns the nod as Nebraska's most improved Class B school, having climbed 74 spots to 56th, while Bennington improved 67 rungs to 109th.
As you browse through this week's Top 10, the 2017-18 record displayed with each school includes contests played through last weekend, since we used Tuesday's rankings.
