Baseball Recap: Village Christian Comes Up Short

Village Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oxnard Yellowjackets.

Johan Pelayo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Blake Deckelman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Village Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Oxnard, their record is now 8-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Yellowjackets beat Village Christian by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.
