Preview: Clear Creek Golddiggers vs. SkyView Academy Hawks
The Clear Creek Golddiggers will head out on the road to challenge the SkyView Academy Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Creek is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Clear Creek was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to Non Varsity Opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Eliott Dunbar, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Indi Crawford, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Clear Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, SkyView Academy ended up a good deal behind Gilpin County on Friday and lost 46-29. SkyView Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for SkyView Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Clear Creek took a serious blow against SkyView Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 60-11. Can Clear Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
