Matthew Johnson leads a balanced attack to beat Pilgrim Academy

King's Christian won the last time they faced the Pilgrim Academy Pioneers, and things went their way on Friday too. King's Christian strolled past Pilgrim Academy with points to spare, taking the game 60-41.

King's Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Johnson, who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Brice, who scored 16 points.

Despite the loss, Pilgrim Academy saw an underclassman step up: Mason Parmer dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Parmer's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Noah Brittin, who scored 12 points.

King's Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Pilgrim Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

King's Christian will be home for the holidays to greet LEAP Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pilgrim Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Cumberland Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
