Tornadoes join three other programs nationally as the only to win 10 titles in a row.

Alcoa made history in Tennessee on Friday by winning its 10th consecutive state championship, topping Westview (Martin) 40-21 in the Division I Class 3A title game.

With the win, Alcoa joins Saint Louis (Honolulu, Hawaii)Washington (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) as the only teams in high school football history to win 10 or more consecutive state titles

Saint Louis (from 1986-99) and Washington (1951-64) both had streaks of 14 straight while Alcoa ties Bishop Gorman's run of 10 in a row between 2009 and 2018.

Alcoa began its streak in 2015 when it defeated Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville).
Tennessee all-time wins leader Gary Rankin was the head coach for the first seven state crowns with Brian Nix as his defensive coordinator. Nix won the Broyles Award for top assistant coach in Tennessee in 2021 and took over the program in 2022.

Nix is 41-3 since taking the head coach position and capped his third season with another state championship.

Friday against Westview, Micah Jones scored three first-half touchdowns as the Tornadoes jumped to a 27-7 halftime lead.

Championship game MVP Eli Graf put the game away with a 49-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter to give Alcoa a 40-21 lead.
