Baseball Recap: Green Mountain Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contest, Green Mountain brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past the Standley Lake Gators 11-5 on Saturday. The Rams not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 12, 2025 (when they won 10-0).

Evan Hente tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits.

At the plate, Cooper Gerou and Pierson Drake did most of the damage at the plate: Gerou went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and five RBI, while Drake got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Drake a new career-high. Ryne Colaizzi also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Green Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Standley Lake only posted an OBP of .387.

Green Mountain's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Standley Lake, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
