Soccer Game Preview: Alma vs. Shelby + How To Watch

The Alma Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Shelby Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Alma is headed into Monday's contest following a draw, the team's first since August 29. They and St. Francis finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Shelby's offense. They came up short against Ludington on Wednesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Shelby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 371st, while Ludington are ranked 162nd).

With that draw, Alma's record moves to 12-5-2. As for Shelby, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-2 record this season.

Alma took their victory against Shelby in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
