Baseball Recap: Christoval Wins Going Away Against Forsan

Christoval had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Forsan Buffaloes with a sharp 14-8 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ryler Hunt made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Hunt was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Debusk, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Colt Floyd was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Christoval kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive matches.

Christoval's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Forsan, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8-2.

Christoval will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buffaloes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
