Owen had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the North Buncombe Black Hawks 107-105. That's more bragging rights for the Warhorses, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Asante Martin was nothing short of spectacular: he posted 43 points. The game was his eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Warnock, who had 21 points.

Owen has already played their next matchup, a 48-38 win against R-S Central on the 20th. As for North Buncombe, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pisgah at 8:00 p.m. on the 25th.
