Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

If Heritage Academy was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Tempe Prep last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Heroes lost 15-9 to the Horizon Honors Eagles on Wednesday.

Jared Wittman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Paul (PJ) Soltero was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Horizon Honors, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

Heritage Academy will venture away from home to face off against Phoenix Country Day at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon Honors, they will host Lincoln Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
