5A District 9 recap September 17, 2013

Holy Cross was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in 5A District 9. Earlier in the week, the Tigers defeated Sulphur 38-13.

Holy Cross took down the Golden Tors 38-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. James Tabary threw for 191 yards in the win.

The Tigers' dynamic duo of Tabary and Michael Chigbu proved tough for Sulphur to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jerry Cook helped Holy Cross' passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 55 yards.

Holy Cross' dynamic duo of Tabary and Chigbu proved to be unstoppable against Paul Bourgeois' team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Chigbu was the best receiver in the league this week as the Tigers bested the Golden Tors. Chigbu racked up 5 receptions for 88 yards.

Tabary put up the best numbers in passing as Holy Cross topped Sulphur.

Archbishop Rummel and Hahnville played the closest game in the league this week, with Archbishop Rummel eventually emerging with a 7-5 victory.
