Pacelli had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Tigerton Tigers 8-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Cardinals have won 14 matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fourth in a row for Pacelli, bringing their record up to 21-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tigerton, they moved to 14-4 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Pacelli will take on Gibraltar/Washington Island on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.1, the Vikings 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Tigerton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
