Baseball Recap: Whitney Comes Up Short

Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Boyd Yellowjackets, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Boyd, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Whitney will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitney's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so West's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boyd, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Callisburg on the 11th.
