Volleyball Recap: Girard Comes Up Short

Girard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Iroquois Braves. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Braves from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Girard was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-23, 25-15.

Girard's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Iroquois, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-2.

Girard and Iroquois could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Yellowjackets (ranked 334th) will meet North East (ranked 143rd) at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Iroquois will square off against Harbor Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (137 vs. 44).
