Softball Recap: New Hope's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Hope). They put the hurt on the Vancleave Bulldogs with a sharp 7-1 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted since April 26, 2024.

Kaselyn Harcrow was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

In other batting news, Jeoreia Henry was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

New Hope's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Vancleave, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

New Hope has already played their next game (against South Pontotoc), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Vancleave, they will face off against South Panola at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
