Basketball Game Preview: Kenesaw Blue Devils vs. Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons

Kenesaw has gone 10-0 against Wilcox-Hildreth recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Kenesaw Blue Devils will welcome the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons. Kenesaw has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three matches.

While Kenesaw didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Axtell by a score of 65-52 on Friday.

Kenesaw can attribute much of their success to Adam Denkert, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, and Jravin Suck, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Denkert's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Wagoner, who posted 11 points.

Kenesaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Wilcox-Hildreth played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Bertrand, falling 76-43. The Falcons have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Wilcox-Hildreth saw an underclassman step up: freshman Drew Blank had 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Johnson, who put up ten points.

Wilcox-Hildreth's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Kenesaw, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Kenesaw against Wilcox-Hildreth in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-25 win. Will Kenesaw repeat their success, or does Wilcox-Hildreth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
