Baseball Game Preview: Glenelg Country Dragons vs. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars

The Glenelg Country Dragons will square off against the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Glenelg Country's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Glenelg Country came up short against Indian Creek and fell 7-2.

Glenelg Country saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Gensemer, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Mount Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Glenelg Country. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ethyn Street was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Our Lady of Mount Carmel is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise.

Glenelg Country's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Glenelg Country skirted past Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2-1 when the teams last played on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
