Baseball Game Preview: Pioneer Mustangs vs. Leigh Longhorns

For the second straight game, Pioneer will face off against Leigh. The Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pioneer fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Leigh on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 3-2. It was the first time this season that the Mustangs let down their fans at home.

For Leigh's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Mogannam, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Another was Aiden Philips, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Leigh pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
