Basketball Recap: Wakulla Comes Up Short

Wakulla played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks, falling 70-45. The War Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-21.

When it comes to explaining why Wakulla lost, don't look at Bradley Vaughn. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Vaughn is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Jones, who posted ten points.

Zay Jenkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Port St. Joe, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 assists. Those 14 assists gave Jenkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jd Becton, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

Wakulla's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Port St. Joe, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Wakulla will host Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Port St. Joe, they will venture away from home to take on Covenant Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Port St. Joe is facing Covenant Christian at the right time seeing as Covenant Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
