Rayshawn Hubbard leads a balanced attack to beat Turpin

Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Turpin Spartans

Even though the West Clermont Wolves have not done well against the Turpin Spartans recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, West Clermont made off with a 48-47 victory over Turpin. The victory was all the more spectacular given West Clermont's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while Turpin is ranked 243rd).

West Clermont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayshawn Hubbard led the charge by scoring 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Duke, who scored nine points along with three steals.

West Clermont pushed their record up to 5-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Turpin, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

West Clermont will head out on the road to face off against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matchups. As for Turpin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
