Basketball Recap: Edgewood Takes a Loss

Edgewood lost against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Edgewood Red Wolves were beaten by the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers 77-21. The Red Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-10.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jadalynn Morel out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Morel has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Bryant, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points and five steals.

Edgewood's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-8. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Edgewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-37 defeat against Satellite on the 28th. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-27 win against Viera on the 28th.
