Volleyball Recap: Englewood Takes a Loss

Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Middle Park Panthers. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-6, 25-10.

Englewood's offense was headlined by Kira Cole and Namine Griego, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Shana Owens and her seven assists.

Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Middle Park, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Coincidentally, Englewood and Middle Park will both be playing Lake County the next time they take the court. The Pirates will head out to face the Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
