Baseball Game Preview: Buford Yellow Jackets vs. Parkwood Wolf Pack

The Buford Yellow Jackets will challenge the Parkwood Wolf Pack at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Buford's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Parkwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Buford is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Cheraw just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. The game marked the first time this season in which the Yellow Jackets were not able to get on the board.

Jackson Sellers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Parkwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Anson with a sharp 13-5 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolf Pack needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Parkwood's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Buford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Buford took their win against Parkwood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-5. Will Buford repeat their success, or does Parkwood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
