Basketball Recap: Springfield Bulldogs vs. St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks

In what's become a running theme this season, the Springfield Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on St. Helena College and Career Academy with a sharp 58-36 victory. Winning may never get old, but Springfield sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Leading Springfield to victory were Anna Richardson and Emersyn Neal. Richardson scored six points along with ten rebounds and seven blocks, while Neal dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Neal hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games. Another player making a difference was Blayre Wheat, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for St. Helena College and Career Academy, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Independence comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for St. Helena College and Career Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Louisiana (GEO Next Generation is ranked 234th, while the Hawks are ranked 211th).
