Softball Game Preview: Hermitage Panthers vs. Deep Run Wildcats

Hermitage is 0-10 against Deep Run since May of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Hermitage is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-7 to L.C. Bird, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Deep Run had taken Patrick Henry down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell 12-7 to the Patriots.

Braelyn Baulsir and Gabby Chrapek stepped up to the plate in a big way. Baulsir went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Chrapek scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Deep Run's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Hermitage, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Hermitage suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Deep Run in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
