Basketball Recap: Manual Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

If Bishop Machebeuf wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Manual, they should've done a better job of containing Dayjah Fox. The Manual Thunderbolts took down the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes 57-42 on Tuesday thanks in part to Fox, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Bishop Machebeuf's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eve Brustkern, who posted nine points and seven steals. Brustkern has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Massaran Ciza was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Manual and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manual and Arvada will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on December 17th. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Englewood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
