Softball Game Preview: Evansville Memorial Tigers vs. Charlestown Pirates

The Evansville Memorial Tigers will take on the Charlestown Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Evansville Memorial will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Evansville Memorial is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Jasper.

Brianna Canaan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Mallory Wollenmann was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ellie Eden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Charlestown came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 9-4.

Evansville Memorial's record now sits at 19-7. As for Charlestown, their record is now 19-8.

Evansville Memorial couldn't quite finish off Charlestown in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 and fell 6-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
