Basketball Recap: Summers County Comes Up Short

Summers County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Independence Patriots. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Summers County's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Independence, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Summers County Bobcats duke it out with the PikeView Panthers at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independence, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
