Recap: Hickory Red Tornadoes vs. St. Stephens Indians

The Hickory Red Tornadoes put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Stephens 73-33 on the road. Hickory might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 33 points or more this season.

Hickory's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Lineberger led the charge by scoring 15 points. That's the first time this season that Lineberger scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Von Wilfong, who scored 14 points.

St. Stephens' loss came despite strong showings from Hayden Hillman and Drew Mcghinnis. Hillman scored ten points, while Mcghinnis scored four points.

St. Stephens struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Hickory's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for St. Stephens, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory and North Lincoln will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Hickory likes a good challenge. St. Stephens and North Iredell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Iredell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully St. Stephens likes a good challenge.
