Basketball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Comes Up Short

If Pharr-San Juan-Alamo was feeling good fresh off their 62-35 takedown of Ben Bolt on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears fell 64-56 to the Agua Dulce Longhorns on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Pharr-San Juan-Alamo lost, don't look at Landon Vega. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Vega is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Guajardo, who posted nine points.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Agua Dulce, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-51 victory against San Isidro on the 28th. As for Agua Dulce, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-37 win against Kaufer on the 28th.
