Basketball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles vs. St. Margaret's Tartans

Capistrano Valley Christian is 6-1 against St. Margaret since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Tartans at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Capistrano Valley Christian is headed out to face St. Margaret's after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Eagles walked away with a 58-46 victory over Canyon Crest Academy on Tuesday.

Capistrano Valley Christian can attribute much of their success to Andrew Lemery, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 24 points and seven boards, and Benjamin Makelela, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave Lemery a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Paulding, who posted seven points and six boards.

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Chapel on Tuesday, taking the game 81-71. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tartans.

Everything came up roses for Capistrano Valley Christian against St. Margaret's in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, as the team secured a 76-48 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
