Mount Airy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the West Stokes Wildcats 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Granite Bears have posted since October 10, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-102) Mount Airy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 16-25, 17-25, 25-17, 26-24, 18-16.

The win got Mount Airy back to even at 9-9. As for West Stokes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mount Airy will venture away from home to take on Forbush at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Granite Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Stokes, they will square off against Surry Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
