Baseball Recap: Monta Vista Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pinewood last Saturday, Monta Vista came back down to earth. The Monta Vista Matadors came up short against the Santa Clara Bruins on Tuesday, falling 11-4. The loss was the Matadors' first of the season.

Kaito Miyanouchi Porter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two triples and one run. Avyan Mahajan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monta Vista fell to 3-1. As for Santa Clara, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Monta Vista is taking a road trip to square off against Cupertino at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Clara, they will host MacDonald at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Clara is facing MacDonald at the right time seeing as MacDonald is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
