Baseball Recap: GV Christian Takes a Loss

GV Christian's last matchup with Laughlin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Guardians lost 22-6 to the Cougars. The Guardians haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

GV Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Cootware, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Cootware has become a key player for the Guardians: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-12 otherwise.

GV Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Laughlin, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. GV Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Needles at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Laughlin will take on rival Lake Mead Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on the 25th.
