Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

Calvary Christian played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 48-10 defeat at the hands of the Hardin Northern Polar Bears. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

Iva Wilson was Calvary Christian's leading scorer, having posted four points. Kari Gantz held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Hardin Northern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addy Bacon led the charge by putting up eight points along with eight boards and five steals. Bacon is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alaina Thomas, who posted five points in addition to nine steals and five assists.

Calvary Christian's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hardin Northern, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.

Calvary Christian has already played their next game (against Waynesfield-Goshen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hardin Northern, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-33 win against Upper Scioto Valley on the 8th.
